I Will See You in Heaven
A Jar of Jam - I Will See You in Heaven
We were going to bring the news of martyrdom to his mother; it was always tough to do so and this time was even worse because the martyr didn’t have a body [to bury]. It was supposed to be a funeral for his soul, but something strange happened. When we arrived to his mother’s home, she was laughing while bringing us sweets. It was crystal clear she didn’t know what had happened. “We are here to bring news about your son”, I said. She looked. “To tell the truth…”, I continued. Her face turned serious. “Is my son dearer than the son of Hazrat-e-Leila? Didn’t she sacrifice her son in Karbala? Is he better than the others?”, she asked. She knew everything. She disarmed me with two sentences. “Please help yourself”, she said. I wanted to sympathize that war and these things are natural blah blah blah...“My son popped into my dream. He told me we have a rendezvous in heaven; he’s not coming back not even his body. I will see you in heaven. Now help yourself, .please”, she said
